For this week's #threetunetuesday, I had planned on following up with the Beatles. Yet, I kept coming back to Spiritualized for whatever reason as I commuted to a little mold shop in the middle of nowhere for work. On those commutes, I was back in Napster/early MPs mode, and kept thinking of some classics I found way back when.
So for this #TTT as inspired by 
Spiritualized : Do It All Over Again
Here is that song that keeps drawing me back. I have not done heavy drugs; I know Sonic Boom and J. Spacemen have, and yet this video relates to me in some way shape or form. I dare say Macca (who I secretly think still reads these in some way shape or form), can relate to the brilliance of this song. I think, anyway.
Jim O'Rourke : Therefore I Am
This is one that came of the good old days of Pitchfork...it sounds like a Bowie-esque guitar rant, with solid lyrics and minimalistic licks. Yet, when you get to 1:45 minutes in, there you go...a little Beatle/Lennon riff in there, below it all. So I guess we didn't get away from the Beatles after all, this week. Highly certain most who read this have never heard this song, ever.
Animal Collective : Bluish
This one is off of their excellent album that blew my mind away back in the day. I think of this one as belonging in the 60's, but in reality, not so much. I recall one eventful evening, long ago, when single, when I may (or may not have) had a few IPAs in me, I dialed up this one up on Karaoke for the cute brunette girl in the audience. Needless to say, I never talked to her that night, or again, nor saw her ever again. Yet damn, I nailed this song that night. Memories. Oh memories.
