It's been a bit since my last #threetunetuesday post. Sorry 
My strategy moving forward is to play three consecutive tracks off of a vinyl own. I tried to start the new plan tonight with my random pull of a Tame Impala record, but alas, the lighting is bad here at 1130 PM at night to get pictures of the vinyl.
So I decided to wing it with something else...and that's corrupting Hattie.
Hattie is our 5 year old daughter who, for the most part, is a free spirit. While daycare has shown her some Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, I always feel obligated to show her something else. It's the dad in me who thinks he is still cool, despite having to wear cheaters at night to read the next Gerald and Piggy book at bedtime. So, for this share, I thought I'd share a few songs I've shared with my daughter that she always requests (and more importantly, enjoys!)
Spacemen 3 : Big City
What can I say? I'm a terrible influence. For whatever reason, Hattie loves this album, and she loves this song. Many an afternoon we've had to dance to this one around the living room. Hey, why not? I mean, it's friggin' Spacemen 3...hello.
Cindi Lauper : Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Well, what's there to say here? My brother and I grew up in the early 80's and this one was a MTV gem. We loved it...why not share it with Hattie too? Oh yes, she loves it to, by the way. Long live the 80's....
Beatles : Paperback Writer
Ok, I'm partial here...but what is it about the Beatles? The first time Hattie heard this song in the bathtub at (I think?) age three, she loved it. I must have played this song for her at least 100 times by now, and she is still enthralled by it. I don't know...it's the Beatles...something tells me that dads 100 years from now will be playing this same song for their little girls too, and everyone will still love it and sing "paperback writer." It's the intangibles in music, I guess.
Just a hunch.
