Hey alright, HF21 is complete, and I think everything is back to working. How exciting, yes? I think I get the gist of the new chains to the rules on the blockchain, but I'm not overly concerned about it. My plan is to continue to enjoy posting content on the Steem blockchain because I enjoy it.
This is the week of Marvel Comics 1000 and another gazillion variants. I think there is a possible recall attached to this issue to, but I didn't get a chance to dig into the details. I'm not getting any of them, so I'm a bad source for this. Sorry, Marvel fans. I think I saw a Variant Y Cover for this issue, and blacked out.
One last change to format going forward, I think. I’m just going to call the second section My Wants This Week. I can then share the books I’m getting with everyone this week, rather than attempt to overly classify things. I’ll leave that level of detail for my job, not Steemit.
Picks For Flips
Red Hood Outlaw 37 B Cover Philip Tan
Are my eyes deceiving me? Is this a DC comic that is actually on this list today? I think so!
Sales are heating up for this issue, which is supposed to feature a first appearance of Cloud Nine. One sale is +$10 USD, and a new listing is already at $29 USD.
House of X 3 C Cover Sara Pichelli
No surprise these are on everyone’s high demand list again. This one is trending around $15 USD.
House of X 3 D Cover Jeff Dekal #
Another one in the $15 USD range.
House of X 3 E Cover Mahmud Asar
And this one is already selling over $20 USD. I won’t be grabbing these, but I hope you do.
My Wants This Week
Doctor Strange 18 B Cover Marcos Martin
Wow, I love this cover art. Look at those colors. Marco Martin, well done! This might be my favorite cover of the week.
Justice League Dark 14 B Cover Clayton Crain
Wow, I love this cover. Man-Bat in all his glory; simiarly to that fantastic Crain Swamp Thing a few weeks ago, this one is an easy for me, and should be at my store tomorrow.
Batgirl 38 B Cover Joshua Middleton Variant
No surprise to any, I suspect, but I’ll be grabbing this one for my ongoing Batgirl collection.
Venom 17 B Cover Sunghan Yune Variant
Cates is leading a massive Carnage storyline, and I can’t keep up. Neither can my wallet. This variant, however, is frigging amazing. I’m really hoping I can score an issue tomorrow at my LCS. Otherwise, I’ll resort to eBay once more.
Mountainhead 1 A Cover Ryan Lee
From IDW, this one sounds interesting: a father and son mountain climbing team come across a lone survivor from a failed mountain climbing expedition. Judging the book by its cover, I’m guessing this will fall in the horror / pyscho genre.
Batman Superman 1 A Cover Daid Marquez
I’m looking forward tot this new series, as some spoilers are mentioning the possible appearance of a new Dark Multiverse Shazam. I like this cover, but the one that is exclusive to Midtown, here:
I’m kind of digging too. We’ll see if I support the megastore this week for this issue, or wait for it to trickle down to eBay. Either way, I do like Joshua Willamson’s work, so I’m very much looking forward to this series.
Necromancer’s Map 1
From Vault Comics, this is another comic featuring magic, dark magic, and a quest featuring a secret map. Dr Jung, calling Dr. Jung? This one sounds like a classic archetypal story; maybe there will be some value in it for us readers, so I’ll give it a go.
Flash 77 B Cover Yasmine Putri Variant
I kind of want more from Putri on these, but I’ll take them. She’s probably saving her better stuff for Marvel, anyway. I would too, I guess.
Tommy Gun Wizards # 1 A Cover Christian Ward
Another new magic/fantasy entry, this time from Dark Horse. Featuring Elliot Ness and I’m guessing his “Untouchables,” the premise of the story is that Ness and company need to fight wizards, elementals, and other magical beings created from a drug that Al Capone is peddling. I loved that Kevin Costner/Sean Connery/Robert DeNiro film as a kid…I must have watched it over 1000 times in middle school. This is one I’m looking forward to reading tomorrow night.
That's it for me this week; thanks for reading, and let's see where Steem goes as a group. Let me know what I missed, as always. Good luck today on those House of X's once again.
