I finally saved up and picked this one up off of eBay (for a price a little more than I wanted to spend). This one is the Peach Momoko Rey cover; also known as Star Wars Wars Adventures 32, this book was a Frankie's Comics exclusive last summer. To get a chance to buy this one back then, you had to enter a lottery by entering a post on their Facebook page...then hope your name was picked for a chance to buy this (for I think) $30 USD. Of course, I have no luck at that type of thing, so my name was not picked.
Yet...I kept this one on my radar for the Hattie Collection. Prices have consistently bid in the $100 USD range on eBay. I spent a little less than that, but my thinking is this is a good hold long term. I mean, it's a) Star Wars, b) a scarce Momoko piece of art, and c) it's Rey Skywalker, which should have long-term value in terms of pop culture value.
The only scary thing about this purchase was the way this one came shipped. Look at this package:
Yikes! Masking tape, slits in the plastic bag, and a beat of a cardboard box holding it all together. One does wonder sometimes...yet, it made it safely to the house. I'll take it.
It's a beauty, and I really think this one will appreciate in value over time. It's not quite a 9.8, but I have no plans to slab this in the future. What do you think? Should I have instead bought more Algorand?
