Some Exciting News
- I have some exciting news to share.
- I am working on 3Speak Shorts.
- Meaning that you can view short clips or videos just like YouTube or Instagram Reels
What do we want to Call it?
- 3Speak Reels?
- or 3Speak Shorts?
- Name it what you want.
- I’ll take care of building that feature on mobile-app.
Research & Experiment
- Everything which I’ve done so far is a draft version.
- It means it’s not yet final.
- I am showing you my expriments.
- I just want to show you that what I’ve done & with that I want your feedback.
- With Feedback, I can build the app-feature the way community wants.
Let’s review
- Let me quickly give you the overview of what I have done.
- I’ve added a new menu item in the drawer - which says 3Speak Shorts.
- Upon tapping on it, App would start playing the video which is found first in the feed.
Which Videos?
- Now, you might be wondering - Which videos
- So, I am yet to build a new API.
- This API will allow users to see videos having length less than 1 min 30 seconds
iOS or Android or Both?
- I was able to implement this successfully for iOS at the moment.
- I am yet to create custom video player to play reels on Android
What custom video player?
- A custom player which goes edge to edge on the screen
- A custom player which allows swipe up & swipe down
- A custom player which disables controls on the screen
- A custom video player which automatically plays the video
- A custom player which allows user to swipe back to go back
What’s next?
- Android Custom Video Player
- Create new API for 3Speak video reels / shorts
- Take feedback from Team & community
