Ever since I was a little kid, software development has been my passion. I still remember sitting in front of my Pentium 2 computer, with Windows 95, developing my first application in QBasic, making it print "Hello, World". As I went through the tutorial, it was almost magic, being able to get the computer to do whatever wanted, just by typing in these funny little symbols, limited only by my own imagination and ingenuity. I have been obsessed with the idea of using software to solve practical problems.
Throughout middle and high school, I latched on to any ideas for projects I could get, moving from "Hello World" all the way to a designing Web pages, with dozens of projects in between. I learnt HTML, CSS and then JavaScript, tearing through any books I could find remotely related to Web page designing. I was insatiable. This lead me to receive my First Runner Up for Web page designing Competition when I was in Grade 7.
Coming from Civil Engineering family background, I forced myself to take Civil Engineering as my career. During those academic years, I did gain practical work experience as well. However, I wasn't satisfied with my choice. Therefore, I made a huge decision in my life and went back to University again and joined as Undergraduate student in Computing. I knew this time, I was following my passion and I studied very hard. Later on I passed with First Class Honours.
I am currently working as a Developer.
