Recycled materials are waste that we can give it a new use and at the same time we will collaborate positively to reduce environmental pollution. When we decide to recycle, many questions arise, since sometimes we do not know what is the appropriate process.

To start this recycling process it is necessary to identify the materials, that is, to place several containers or bags and identify them as follows: organic matter, containers, glass and paper. In this way we can start the recycling process in a fast, simple and very effective way.

I love to recycle plastic containers, boxes, sheets of paper, etc., because I always give them a new use. For example:

  • Plastic containers, like butter, I use them to store food, and I fill bottles of soda or juice with water.
  • The boxes to make any type of school crafts, to store things, etc.
  • The sheets of paper are used when the child wants to draw, make a plane, among others.

You can really make a lot of beautiful things with recycled materials such as: lamps, flowers, carts, pots, key chains, bags, dolls, houses, etc. Lately I have been very interested in creating things with recycled material, with the arrival of the quarantine, the teachers have ordered to do activities with this type of materials and I've become very creative, In collaboration with my son we have made a musical instrument (four), a kite and a memory game.

Since I was very interested in working with these materials, I decided to make a basket for my son to deposit his dirty clothes.

The materials I used were the following:

  • Recycled sheets of paper.
  • Carton box.
  • A rule.
  • A scissor
  • Glue or silicone.
  • Handle for the lid.
  • 4 supports.
  • Decoration material (crepe paper, paints, stickers, etc.)

Step by Step.

We cover the inside from the box with recycled sheets of paper.

We crinkle several sheets, then stretch and glue those sheets to the outside of the box.

Glue the crepe paper on top, middle, and bottom.

Using the ruler, I measured a piece of cardboard to make the lid, I covered with the crumpled paper and the crepe paper on the edges.

At the bottom, glue the 4 supports with hot silicone.

Glue the lid and also the handle to lift the lid (with hot silicone because it is more resistant), and for decorate add a bit of Toy Story decals, the decoration is to your liking.

Giving recycled materials a new use has many advantages, among them we have:

  • Economic savings.
  • Help create jobs.
  • Reduces contamination.
  • We develop our creativity.
