A New Place to Explore (Eng/Esp)

The Quetepe beach resort is a tourist area that offers many spots for swimmers to enjoy and relax; in fact, there are various churuatas and canopies with chairs along the shore, but there are also some less-explored areas since they don’t seem suitable for swimming.

I made my way toward a rocky area near the mountain. I walked down to the beach and saw large rocks, so it would be risky to jump into the sea—a reckless move that would end in a bad experience. The crystal-clear water offers a clear view of this shoreline, where debris can be seen.

There are several beach houses in this area; some have been damaged by salt spray and strong waves. This environment is very harmful to metal structures, which is why there is significant corrosion on rebar and floor mesh. When building in these locations, certain factors must be taken into account; for this reason, these steel-and-concrete homes succumb to the marine environment, while more modest ones made of wood remain standing—it’s no coincidence that boats are made of this material.

Similarly, the view from here is nothing short of breathtaking, especially where the hill meets the sea and the two merge into an enchanting landscape. The angle prevents me from seeing the beach resort area, so much so that I might consider this a rather secluded spot where one can breathe in a sense of deep peace.

Exploring the beach is an incredible experience; you’re always discovering new scenes that lead to adventures—of course, with the prudence and maturity that come with age. Every so often, it’s necessary to take a break from daily life and make room for relaxing activities.

El balneario de Quetepe es una zona turística que ofrece muchas áreas para el disfrute y la recreación de los bañistas, de hecho hay diferentes servicios de churuatas y toldos con sillas a lo largo de la orilla, pero también existen sectores poco explorados ya que no lucen aptos para bañarse.

Mis pasos se dirigieron hacia una zona pedregosa, cerca de la montaña. Bajé hasta la playa y pude observar rocas de gran tamaño, así que sería un riesgo lanzarse al mar, una imprudencia que se saldaría con un mal rato. El agua cristalina permite una vista clara de esta orilla en la cual se observan escombros.

En esta zona hay varias casas de playa, algunas han sufrido los embates del salitre y del fuerte oleaje. Este ambiente es muy dañino para estructuras de metal, por ello se advierte mucha corrosión en cabillas y mallas de los pisos. Cuando se construye en estos lugares se debe tener en cuenta ciertas características, por tal razón estas viviendas de fierro y concreto caen derrotadas ante el ambiente marino en tanto otras más humildes hechas de madera siguen en pie, por algo los botes son de este material.

De igual forma, la vista desde acá no deja de ser impresionante, sobre todo, cuando la colina toca el mar y se funden en medio de un paisaje encantador. El ángulo no me permite observar el área del balneario, tanto que podría considerar que se está en un lugar bastante retirado donde se respira mucha paz.

Explorar la playa es una experiencia increíble, siempre se descubren nuevos escenarios que llevan consigo aventuras, por supuesto, con la prudencia y la madurez que conceden los años. Cada cuanto se hace necesario pausar la cotidianidad y darle paso a actividades relajantes.
