Lalbagh Fort which is in Dhaka on besids of Buriganga river. It is an incomplete 17th century Mughal Fort.
Lalbagh fort construction began in 1677 under the direction of prince Mohammad Azam.
He handed this fort to Shaista Khan for completion. He did not complete the fort because of his daughter Pari BIBI (Fairy Lady) died here in 1684. Paribibi was the loving daughter of Nawab Shaista Khan. He left the structure incomplete.
The only three structures of buildings are the mosque, the tomb of Poribibi and the Diwan - i-Aam.
Lalbagh fort has some underground tunnels which are now sealed. Lalbagh Fort has big open place. Everyday many people come to this fort for seeing and enjoying.
