This was the day to do it
Restoring my egg. The Big Green Egg that is. A while ago I discovered cracks in my egg which has been replaced under warranty. Thank God!
The repair progress
- first I painted the Nest for the Green Egg so all rust was gone
- Than I placed the base in the egg to work on from there on good working height
- Now the metal band was placed on top of the base with the lid handle
- Now it is time to put the dome on top and align it with the base
- Than I tightened the bolts and the lid can be opened
- Now it was time to connect the egg mates to the Big Green Egg (tables)
Last step
The last step now will be firing up the egg to a reasonable temperature to let the egg adjust itself for future higher heat.
It was a nice dat with great progress.
