I know someone that even a lie detector cannot detect that he's lying. I also know another who's good at making stories to reinforce her lies. I think what you said here is true and it's too sad that people we care for fall to this kind of life:

Once you start lying it becomes your life until you can no longer identify what is the truth anymore.
