Great point about 'content-quality' generating 'comment-quality.' It's not guaranteed but one definitely increases their chances of getting good comments if they have a top-tier, engaging, discussion-sparking post. One post I got the most comments on was basically just a short question: "Does society prefer 'Dumb & Rich' to 'Wise & Poor?'" Many people had an opinion, so they jumped at the opportunity to share in the comments.
