Start of a 14 Day Road Trip.
On the 25th of June, my wife and I started on a 2 week Road Trip. We decided not to book any accommodation before the time, except for our first 2 stops.
Our plan was to drive approximately 900km from Pretoria to Upington for our first leg of the journey.
We started of at 04:00 o'clock in the morning, as we had a long stretch ahead of us.
The plan was to go to Upington, and then to the Augrabies Waterfall from there we decided to go to the Northern part of the South African West coast, close to the Namibian border and then work our way down the West Coast to around the town of Saldanha, visiting a number of small coastal towns on the way. From there we would turn inland, to visit some small towns, before we went to visit my wife's aunt who is farming almost in the centre of the country near the town of Colesberg.
After the visit to her aunt, we would return home.
All went well with our trip and on the next few posts, I will be posting on our trip.
Our first stop was an early morning stop, at a petrol garage at the ice cold town of Zeerust, where we just bought some coffee and stretched the legs a bit.
We then carried on to another town called Vryburg, where we stopped at a coffee shop for breakfast and some more coffee.
We then moved on and stopped at a Farm stall, next to the road, for some more coffee and some Milk tart, I plan to write some more on this farm stall
We also stopped for some wine tasting along the road, before finally arriving at the Mariott Protea Hotel for our fist overnight stop in Upington, for a very well deserved rest.
Remember, I am an old Railway Worker, who love BEER but does not know enough about beer to answer
