Model Railway; Red Devil Steam Locomotive replica.
I had the privilege to visit a very enthusiastic rail way model builder. He has a huge number of model trains, which is replicas of real trains and locomotives that was used through the years by the South African Railways.
The photo at the top shows a replica of the Pretoria station building.
In the photo below, you can see the famous Blue Train as well as the The Royal White Train, which was used by Prince George the Duke of Kent in 1939 while touring South Africa.
The green locomotives below are some of the first electric locomotives used by the South African Railways.
The video shows the last steam locomotive built by the South African Railways, this was also the only one of it's type ever built. Just listen to the nice sound effects on the video.
If you click on the link, you will find quite an interesting article on the Red Devil locomotive, it used the newest steam technology, but never went into production as electric and diesel powered locomotives replaced it.
It is quite interesting to see all the detail in this model railway, it surely took a lot of work, to built it all.
I hope you enjoyed the post, have a wonderful day!!
