Grey Raisin Tree (Grewia Monticola)

Two days ago, I wrote on the Swart Haak Tree for #TreeTuesday. There, I mentioned that I found a number of tagged trees, which I took photos off. If it was not for the tags, I would never have know what the names of the trees were.

The next tree that I took photos of is called the Grey Raisin tree. According to google, this tree can grow up to 10 meters high and grows in mountainous areas. The example, I took the photo of was however not close to any mountains, and was also not very tall. It is more a bush than a tree.

This particular tree did have some fruits on it, but they were not ripe yet, thus they were green in color. If I look at photos on the net, it seems that they become a brownish color when ripe.

The fruit is edible, but as they were not ripe yet, I did not try them!!
