Yeh all the aches and pains (unless you have chronic pain from a relatively young age) and knowing how you're going to feel and think about things is difficult to predict/gauge even a year in advance never mind several decades. I knew several people in their late teens/early 20s back when I was at uni (and Youngest is doing the same now) where they cheerfully declared they would never get that old because they'd die doing something fun and exciting or get rid of themselves the second they became unable to do the things they loved right now as "growing out of" the things they loved right now and growing to love other things were unimaginable I guess. Most of them are probably still around.

Speaking of Youngest like most young men his age he is hyperfocused on building muscle. Eldest and I have tried stressing the importance of also working joint strength and flexibility but it's falling on deaf ears (like everyone else he has already done all the research and considered all the options and knows he is doing exactly the right thing and anyone who says otherwise is stupid and uninformed). But I guess it's better than gaming all day.

Also thanks for the indirect reminder that I have to do my joints, I've been a bit slack at work and haven't been jumping on and off the boxes as much as usual.
