Renting is easier and harder than owning. Like everything to do with the house is someone else's problem to fix, all you have to do is report it and wait, but then you're not allowed to have pets or make any major modifications to the house or garden (I think over here you can now paint as long as you return it to a "neutral" colour before moving out) and there's no guarantee that your lease will be renewed even though you're the perfect tenant.
