I guess between a possible starstrike of little shows leading to bigger shows and the general safety concerns you have to take care of in any given show regardless of size people who are showing would generally take it pretty seriously. I have seen the same "serious" air in people showing at the tiny local shows we go to sometimes (our tumbler troupe performs at a small-medium sized show every year) at least as far as the actual showing standards/safety aspects are concerned and most are very friendly and welcoming and will tell you which animals are pattable and which ones will probably bite XD
I know the dog breeders and probably a bunch of the other owners are seeing other things but all I'm seeing is a bunch of cute pattable puppies x_x
