I can see it now, people being conscripted into chess clubs to fight for their country x_x

At least they'll get to go home again afterwards, unless they live in the type of place where you get executed for losing or something equally ridiculous.

How did they convince people to play chess (or I suppose insert any other war simulation game that could be used instead, and there was a fun spell that Pepper did in the Pepper and Carrot comic to make a battle non-lethal) anyway? That's one thing I wouldn't mind seeing happening for reals if they're going to continue with stupid pointless wars.
