I really must be either missing or completely misinterpreting people then, if I bust out medical jargon (well biology jargon most of the time but it overlaps in places) I have either gotten blank looks because they don't know what the biology jargon is (O_O;) or they've gotten cheerful that it doesn't have to be dumbed down quite so much.
