I suppose a virus could have that simple a mentality to go with their extremely basic structures XD

I like pretending they're either just doing what they do thinking it's the right thing to do because it's the right thing to do for them (so not unlike humans XD) or some advanced civilisation that's doing something else and possibly not even realising that every planet/universe they're invading is alive due to scale issues and that we don't notice for the same reason.
