You're in Australia right? Can you do blocktrades (to go hive to token supported by following) -> LivingRoomOfSatoshi/Paid By Coins (nb: I haven't tried this one yet and hmm it also seems to be suspended and I don't know if that's temporary or what) -> bank account? Or were the rates too high?

Back from the other blockchain I did steem -> ltc with blocktrades using the lros ltc wallet as the receiving address and lros then sent me fiat. Haven't tried it recently as I haven't wanted/needed to cash out the hive for anything yet. Apparently the rates aren't fantastic but the whole thing took only slightly longer than the time it took to do the transfer and it was easy enough for my meagre brain to manage (most important XD).
