The element of air is not one I use much in my own magickal practice. I’m inclined to believe this is because I tend to have a slight underbalance of this element which can result in a slower and heavier pace from time to time. I’m a methodical person and I tend to gravitate more towards either the fast flash of a good fire spell, or the more solid earth spells which pack a hell of a punch once they manifest. Air can literally be on the flighty side, at least that is what I’ve observed with many folks I know born under an air sign. I’ve utilized the air element for both weather manipulation and aerokinesis, but since neither of those are beginner topics I did some digging on the internet to find a couple of more basic spells you might want to try out. As always, your intention is going to be your best source of power so I highly suggest personalizing these to something you are comfortable with. Air represent the qualities of ideas, inspiration, creativity, intelligence, travel, freedom, new beginnings and mental clarity. Items like feathers, bells, and incense all have air attributes and can be useful to incorporate into an air spell. Also be sure to speak out loud, inhale scents, and ring bells to magnify the effects of the air element in your spell. Below are a few examples you can build off of:

Spell to Bring Travel

If you find yourself with itchy feet and wanting to get out there and travel the world, this spell to help bring more travel opportunities into your life may be just the trick. You will need:

A small hand fan (the kind you wave, not battery-operated)
Dish of fresh mint
A small light feather (as opposed to a big heavy turkey feather)

Lean over the dish of mint, and inhale the smell. Visualize yourself in various places, and viewing different landscapes. Begin to toss the little feather in the air, and then use the fan to blow it around the room, trying to keep it airborne as you envision the winds of chance also moving you to new places. Let the feather land in the mint, take a few more breaths of the minty aroma. Repeat this each morning upon waking, picturing yourself seeing new places as you deep breath in the minty aroma.

Spell to Invoke Creativity

You will need the following materials:

Dried lavender flowers
Lavender oil
A symbol of your art or craft (meaning whatever medium you work in and need creativity for)

Set your symbol on your altar and anoint it with a little lavender oil. Sprinkle a handful of the lavender flowers over it while you repeat the following words outloud:

Muse of art
Muse of sound
Muse of thought
Gather ‘round
I ask for power
For shining light
Creativity
In this rite

Leave the item on your altar until you’ve found that new burst of creative energy.
