He said it! Ron Paul says he advocates 'Voluntarism' and has tremendous hope for the future

In a recent interview with Derrick Broze (@derrickbroze) of the Conscious Resistance Network, former Congressman Ron Paul said some very interesting words. When Derrick Broze asked him about whether there are any real differences between Trump and other politicians, Dr. Paul answered that there aren't many philosophical differences between the two major parties in the United States. Rather, he said, we have to look at politics from the perspective of voluntary interaction versus force.

What particularly struck me, is that Dr. Paul uttered the word 'voluntarism'. This is a word that is particularly used by anarchists and is not known to a lot of people outside of "our little bubble" of liberty-minded. Could this mean that the idea of voluntarism/voluntaryism is becoming more mainstream? Dr. Paul is a person to whom many people look up, so I have hope that more people will look into the philosophy of voluntaryism.

Of course, we shouldn't argue about terminology. Sadly, this often happens as libertarians, anarcho-capitalists, voluntaryists, voluntarists, agorists, etc. etc. argue about what means what and how they're all different. In my opinion, this isn't a good allocation of resources. The truth is that we have more in common than we have differences and we should use this to our advantage. The most important thing is to lead by example and put our ideas into action. There are lots of ways to do this: for example, take a look at the 'Solutions' search results on The Corbett Report. I'm also interested in @kencode's work and his idea of 'Agorising the world'.

Furthermore, Ron Paul says that he has tremendous hope that the political system of the United States can change. The first thing that this made me think of is @adamkokesh's campaign for Not-President. He will be running for the 2020 presidential elections on the platform of the peaceful dissolution of the US Federal Government. With half of the population not voting last year, this doesn't even seem such a bad idea, in my opinion. It looks like more and more people are realizing that traditional politics can't give sustainable solutions and so the decentralization of power would be a good first step to give power back to the individual and the community.
