Colors are vital parts of a butterflies' life. A butterfly has compound eyes: each eye is made up of about 6,000 tiny parts called lenses, which let in light. They can also see ultraviolet light. These magnificent flutters are attracted by the color of the petals and nectar. Similar to a 'color detection system', they search for food through detecting 'color constancy' with UV, violet, blue, green, and red wavelength peaks. Apart from this, they possess the widest visual range of all wildlife.
