Today I had my first lessons at my new school!
It has been rather exhausting as I had to meet new students, memorize their names, combine the names with the faces and start to understand what each child is about.
I entered two new classrooms and met with two new classes during the morning lessons. In the afternoon, once the lessons were done, my afterschool class students and I entered the dining room and had our first lunch together. Once our stomachs were full, we spent a few moments in the yard before going back inside to start doing homework.
As it was the first day of lessons, none of the teachers had given a lot of homework, so all the kids finished quite quickly. This left us more than an hour of playtime before their parents came to take them back home.
Unfortunately the school yard doesn't have a playground so the children don't have many alternatives. They ran, they walked and sat under the trees. Tomorrow I'll be getting some balls from the gym so that they can play. I believe that they'll have a lot more homework to do which will occupy more of our time, so we won't have as much free time for playing games.
Once we settle down and we find our pace, things are gonna be much easier. One or two weeks tops and then everything will work as it should, the kids will get used to a routine and the days will start going by with less stress.
Time for bed now! The alarm clock is already set and the lights are about to go out!
Goodnight!
