Pretty excited about the coming weekend steemians, as I'm going to be taking a bunch of my friends out on my first yacht charter as skipper. Here's a picture of the yacht we're getting!!
15 months ago I'd never set foot on a sailing yacht, but ended up getting talked into a basic crewing course from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). I was hooked straight away and have spent a lot of time in the last year blagging my way onto any boat I can and building up experience.
I've also done a couple more courses since the first really basic one, so I think I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing but still feel like it's going to be a big step up not having an instructor or professional skipper on board to rely on. 2 of my friends who are coming have also got no sailing experience whatsoever, which makes things even more interesting!!
Hoping the weather plays fair and gives us a bit of wind, but not so much that it scares the bejeezus out of everyone. Watch out for an update on our adventure some time next week
