# The art of letting things unfold naturally ---

How many times have we heard that we should "let things flow" or "just relax" about something? I believe that we ofter hear that a lot more than we'd really like. Truth is that we live in a world in which everything has to be easy, quick and give us instant gratification. There's no reason why, generations have embraced this way of living for quite some time now.
Time is precious and, as it's quite obvious, none of us want it to be wasted, it's the scarcest resource we have and the only thing that we can never get back... so, let's use it wisely. But what happens when the intention of making the most out of our time goes too far? Is it really sustainable for us to focus and plan everything on the long term, just for the sake of feeling that we're in control? I don't think so. ---

--- We're exposed to uncertainty in every single moment of our lives, and that's part of *riding the wave*, but still we avoid accepting this at all costs and end up planning more than we're supposed to. Is it that, perhaps, we simply can not let things unfold by themselves? Being pragmatic, structured and organized is part of my personality, I have to say. By the time I was attending university to become an Accountant, those characteristics sharpened a lot more. Little by little, as things didn't go as I expected them or as I had them planned got me going through some serious anxiety patches. ---

--- The first step, for sure, is being aware of this issue. No amount of time, experience or even will to predict things will set us free from our stress or fear. Uncertainty is part of our daily life equation, and that's how we should face it: handling things as they come to us. And that's what I'm currently learning right now: **learning the art of letting things unfold by themselves**. If something's right for us and we're supposed to go through it, it will happen no matter how hard we fight it. Resisting will only make everything a lot more painful and our life experience will get to a point in which all sorts of situations mean a huge stress for us. ---

--- It's not something that you learn overnight and, for sure, you will have your moments of doubt, regret and even fear... but as they say, it is what it is, *no calm sea has ever made a skilled sailor*. And I'm here to ride this boat no matter what. Open your arms and embrace what the Universe is providing you, let go of all your expectations and just value things as they come by, with child eyes, free of judgement and being out of our "victim zone". Every single experience can be turned up for good if we decide to find the positive side on it. Welcome the unknown and give your mind a rest. ---

The art of detaching your own expectations from reality, quite easy to say... pretty hard to make it part of your daily life. We have been programmed to be as productive as we can, to work as hard as our body allows us to and to give always your 110% even when your mind is falling apart. Have you ever thought if that's what you really want for yourself? By letting things unfold naturally we detach ourselves from all the mental slavery we've grown up with. Don't get me wrong, it's ok to be structured, but not up to a point in which we start to suffer. Balance is also key... but unfortunately, that's another thing we yet have to learn how to master. ---

--- When it comes to me, I'm little by little learning to let go of all things that no longer work for me. I trust the Universe and how all thing are unfolding, I accept the reality just as it is: everything is perfect and there's nothing else that could have happened. The best is yet to come... and here I'll be, ready to take up the challenge and make the most out of it!

# El arte de permitir que las cosas se den solas ---

¿Cuántas veces hemos escuchado que debemos "dejar que las cosas fluyan" o "simplemente relajarnos" sobre algo? Creo que solemos escuchar eso mucho más de lo que realmente nos gustaría. La verdad es que vivimos en un mundo en el que todo tiene que ser fácil, rápido y darnos una gratificación instantánea. No hay ninguna razón por la cual, las generaciones han adoptado esta forma de vida desde hace bastante tiempo.
El tiempo es precioso y, como es bastante obvio, ninguno de nosotros quiere que se desperdicie, es el recurso más escaso que tenemos y lo único que nunca podremos recuperar... entonces, usémoslo sabiamente. Pero, ¿qué sucede cuando la intención de aprovechar al máximo nuestro tiempo va demasiado lejos? ¿Es realmente sostenible para nosotros enfocarnos y planificar todo a largo plazo, solo por sentir que tenemos el control? No me parece. ---

--- Estamos expuestos a la incertidumbre en cada momento de nuestras vidas, y eso es parte de *montar la ola*, pero aun así evitamos aceptar esto a toda costa y terminamos planeando más de lo que se supone que debemos hacer. ¿Es que, quizás, simplemente no podemos dejar que las cosas se desarrollen por sí mismas? Ser pragmática, estructurada y organizada es parte de mi personalidad, debo decir. Para cuando asistía a la universidad para convertirme en Contador, esas características se agudizaron mucho más. Poco a poco, a medida que las cosas no salían como esperaba o como las tenía planeadas, tuve algunos momentos de ansiedad graves. ---

--- El primer paso, sin duda, es tomar conciencia de este problema. Ninguna cantidad de tiempo, experiencia o incluso la voluntad de predecir las cosas nos liberará de nuestro estrés o miedo. La incertidumbre es parte de nuestra ecuación de la vida diaria, y así es como debemos enfrentarla: manejando las cosas como nos llegan. Y eso es lo que estoy aprendiendo actualmente: **aprender el arte de dejar que las cosas se desarrollen solas**. Si algo es bueno para nosotros y se supone que debemos pasar por ello, sucederá sin importar cuánto luchemos contra ello. Resistir sólo hará que todo sea mucho más doloroso y nuestra experiencia de vida llegará a un punto en el que todo tipo de situaciones supondrán un enorme estrés para nosotros. ---

--- No es algo que se aprende de la noche a la mañana y, seguro, tendrás tus momentos de duda, arrepentimiento e incluso miedo... pero como dicen, es lo que es, *ningún mar en calma ha hecho jamás a un marinero experto*. Y estoy aquí para montar este barco sin importar qué. Abre tus brazos y abraza lo que el Universo te está brindando, deja de lado todas tus expectativas y simplemente valora las cosas como vienen, con ojos de niño, libre de juicios y estando fuera de nuestra "zona de víctimas". Cada experiencia puede mejorar si decidimos encontrarle el lado positivo. Da la bienvenida a lo desconocido y dale un descanso a tu mente. ---

El arte de separar tus propias expectativas de la realidad, bastante fácil de decir... bastante difícil hacerlo parte de tu vida diaria. Hemos sido programados para ser tan productivos como podamos, para trabajar tan duro como nuestro cuerpo nos lo permita y para dar siempre el 110%, incluso cuando nuestra mente se está desmoronando. ¿Alguna vez has pensado si eso es lo que realmente quieres para ti? Al dejar que las cosas se desarrollen naturalmente, nos liberamos de toda la esclavitud mental con la que hemos crecido. No me malinterpreten, está bien ser estructurado, pero no hasta un punto en el que empecemos a sufrir. El equilibrio también es clave... pero desafortunadamente, esa es otra cosa que todavía tenemos que aprender a dominar. ---

--- Cuando se trata de mí, poco a poco estoy aprendiendo a dejar ir todas las cosas que ya no funcionan para mí. Confío en el Universo y en cómo se están desarrollando todas las cosas, acepto la realidad tal como es: todo es perfecto y no hay nada más que pueda haber sucedido. Lo mejor está por venir... y aquí estaré, ¡lista para aceptar el desafío y aprovecharlo al máximo!
