Incredibly Evil and Disturbing Faces Made With Artificial Intelligence
If you haven't seen my introduction post on art creation with Artificial Intelligence, I invite you to take a look at this post before going further down the rabbit hole in this one. It's truly mind-boggling to see the kind of creations this simple but powerful AI can create through the use of machine learning and Generative Adversarial Networks.
The best thing about Artbreeder is that it's free and anyone can use it, regardless of skillset in digital art or art in general.
All you need is time, patience and a keen eye for aesthetic.
Today, I'd like to show you some very disturbing, creepy and sinister faces I was having loads of fun with. Beware though, if you are easily spooked now is the time to turn your head around because you might not recover from seeing these images.
They could end up haunting your dreams.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Here we go.
Shit! Now that's something you don't want to see staring at you from behind the curtain.
Looks like a mix of Smeagol from Lord of the Rings and a demonic witch.
Who would have thought that something this ugly and unsettling can ever come out of an image like this.
But this is actually the very first image used in the process of creating the monstrosity above.
Don't believe me?
Take a look of the family tree of all of the modifications it took to get from a pretty blond-haired girl to a satanic Seagol-like demonic witch.
It took only a few alterations of the original image to get to the bizarre-looking creature of children's nightmares. Some cross-breeding with what looks like a female undead priest from WoW, tweaking their genes to add an evil smile and voilà!
You've got yourself a creepy face to scare your kids into behaving.
Just be cautious not to mentally scar them for life though.
Moving on, we've got a grandpa still blazing dank nugs at age 98 and he ain't stoppin'.
I sincerely hope that's not how I'll turn out if I get to his age.
Next up, I don't even know how to call this freak-show but don't blame me on its creation, the AI made me do it!
Her sister is kinda hot though.
I call this progression: "Kids don't do drugs!"
You might get a couple of laughs and your jaw stuck smiling for the rest of your life but look at that face and those eyes!
They creep the living shit out of me.
Next up we got Larry here, who went out to a party once and never came back.
His brother John joined him a couple of years later but he ain't lookin' any better.
If you've managed to stick through this far, congratulations! You are braver than most people out there but you are guaranteed some sick and twisted nightmares for the next couple of days.
The next image won't help alleviate them.
Don't even know how this came to be and what to call it.
This was actually one of my first creations, back when I didn't have a clue what I was doing or where I wanted to go with it so I blame this one on the AI itself.
After all, the AI created it, not me. I mean, mine was just the input but the creator is the AI so yeah, blame it on the AI.
This next one looks like a serial killer.
Not sure why but his smile and eyes point to a fact that he did something very very wrong.
Next up we got a Cruella de Vil doppelganger.
This one received an interesting anomaly after tweaking her genetics a little too much.
Funny thing about it is that it turned up when I decreased the amount of angry in her genes to make her look less evil.
Things just get freakier from now on.
I took this as a starting point, cross-bred it with a fairly decent looking lady and tweaked its genetics left and right to come up with this ungodly creature.
It's truly hideous but not as much as the last one though.
Last but definitely not least, we've got latino Justin Sun, just because I've heard he is racist.
Hopefully, this lightens up your day and gives you a few cheap laughs.
Next time I'll take you through AI landscape creation.
Until then I would like to see your Artbreeder creations.
