I also love dog more than a cat, but I am taking care of 6 cats rn haha. In the end, I just started liking them too. Cat and dogs almost had the same personality, they are full of mischief and craziness but even that will be cute to the eye of their hooman hahaha. I hope you get to have your pet soon. But u should practice handling their mess now as that is part of responsibility...including poopppppp hahaha
