I often find it hard to explain the contents of my art. It's probably the main reason why I started to create art. A safe haven to zone out and let my underlying consciousness speak for itself. If I can't find words on paper, or in voice, how will I be able to express myself to make myself understood?

The frustration of not being able to say the right words have haunted me for as long as I can remember. Rather than spending a few thoughts within a reasonable time, I have had the habit of sharing whatever comes to mind. And that, I can tell you, is a maze of its own. Now remaining silent in my shell, patiently waiting for the time to come to be able to speak in the tongue of my own.

I've created an art series that resemble a few reminders I often go back to. You know, to check in with life, or whenever I feel like making up the balance on how I'm doing. I've published the full artwork on MakersPlace, where I minted a 1 of 1 edition for each of them.

Cheers,
Ruben

Reminder I: Ups and Downs

The timeline of our life mostly consists of ups and downs. Whether we are in our lows, eventually, there will be highs. And vice versa. The concept of time is rather an illusion since we only get the clearest grasp of feeling emotions in the current. A slight reminder of how things once were, regardless of the hopes we might have for the future.

In essence, ups and downs are opportunities to feel. A brief, or prolonged moment of another tick that slowly fades away. Pain, sorrow, joy, or enlightenment. Use it as knowledge to take with you on your ongoing journey. As it may seem endless right at this moment, today.

Reminder II: Collission

We often find ourselves in collision with one and another. Whether it be intimate or quite the opposite of that. As we are human, physical, or mentally being able to make contact with one and another is an important given in order for us to survive.

Blow off some steam, embrace, collide, together as one. Make your peace.

Reminder III: Individuality

Individuality is powerful. A trait we often take for granted. We rely on others, while we hold the power to achieve our goals ourselves. A danger to those who rely too much on others, and find ease to point fingers when things go wrong.

If we have to point fingers, individuality is only pointing to oneself. It's easy to confront others with our own shortcomings, but to be able to replace ourselves in one and another is key to find balance on our own.

Every day can be a party, you have to light the candles yourself. The Sun waits for no one, why would you? You can't run if you haven't started walking.

Being an individual can, by birth, be a heavy burden to one's responsibility. The responsibility to always think for yourself. To not enforce subjective opinions on another. To remain ourselves if we wish to unite.

With so many various examples all around us, it might be challenging to be true to ourselves. To shape an opinion and enforce it on others might be diluting the curve as it may, perhaps, be created from an example we find comfort in.

We, as individuals, differ. And as different people, we can make a difference. The difference we need to be able to change the world.

Reminder IV: Patience

If there is one thing I need to keep reminding myself of, it is to have patience. Deep from within, I know everything is going to be alright. And even if it isn't, it is already. Perhaps this has something to do with being a perfectionist learning to be less of a perfectionist. Eager to learn, even more eager to see progress. The quicker, the better. While I find myself over and over again to just have waited a little bit longer.

Reminder IV

Make sure to check the infinite loops out on MakersPlace

If you are interested in buying one of my artworks, make sure to check out and sign up at MakersPlace. Of course, I would find it awesome if you were one of my collectors. Furthermore, I hope you find the pleasure in obtaining one of my pieces as much as I have had fun when creating them.
