It is not easy to be our own "fans". Sometimes introspection becomes an enemy. At other times, it is a necessary guide.
Another thing that is clear to me is how difficult it is to maintain the rhythm of the work (tension and so on) when we are writing chapters and publishing... Well, at some point you may want to remove or change things...
