The billionaire Tesla CEO first outed himself with a series of cryptic tweets, saying things like, ‘FREE AMERICA NOW,' and claiming the country's quarantine measures were fascist. He went on to praise Texas for easing its lockdown, and claimed the now-deleted ‘Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine' page was the best group on Facebook. Musk's expression of anti-lockdown sentiment culminated in the ultimate power-flex: opening his California-based Tesla factory, despite continued stay-at-home orders and car manufacturing not quite making it into the essential business category. Especially because nobody is using cars at the moment. This has so far gone unpunished by Fremont officials because the tech entrepreneur threatened to move the money making factory to another state. Capitalism at its finest, or an example of a maverick liberating his workers?
