I don't know how these statistics translate into the number of new registered users, so I don't know how to evaluate them or what the actual impact of Hive's promotion is.
You clearly didn’t understand the main point of my post.
If I, as the author, for whatever reason, don’t want to participate in such “promotion,” that should be respected, not ignored.
What kind of promotion is it for Hive if someone on Reddit clicks on the link to my post and sees that I, as the author, did not want it linked there?
If someone ignores your wishes in such a simple case, what guarantee do you have that they won’t use your photos for the other purposes you mentioned?
I don’t care about that small portion of the rewards in this system. I don’t want people who, on the one hand, don’t appreciate my work by voting on my posts, yet on the other hand are very eager to promote those posts on Reddit to earn Hive. In such cases, I know they don’t appreciate my work; they aren’t interested in promoting me as an author—they’re only interested in the reward for my work. That’s exactly the attitude of the first person in this post.
If someone uses my photos against my will and gets paid for it, what do you call that?
And what about the users who left Hive but whose posts remain? What kind of promotion is that for them?
I don’t think HivePosh is entirely bad. I believe that in its current form, it’s being used to earn Hive, rather than to genuinely promote authors and Hive.
Honestly, if the reward ratios on HivePosh were reversed, do you think these people would be so eager to participate in this promotion?
There has to be some kind of compromise. Everyone should have a choice and decide for themselves whether they want their work to be promoted in this way. It shouldn't be forced on them.
