Hello, Splinterlands warriors!
There’s a certain kind of satisfaction that’s hard to describe when a long wait finally comes to an end. After waiting for quite some time, the 250,000 Glint reward from completing the 250 Survival Battles challenge finally landed in my account. It felt like receiving a well-earned prize for an effort that, at one point, I wasn't even sure would pay off.
The moment I saw my Glint balance jump so dramatically, I was immediately faced with an interesting dilemma.
Should I spend all this Glint on upgrading my Exemplar, or should I invest it in expanding and strengthening my card collection?
Normally, I'm pretty disciplined. I save my Glint with a specific goal in mind. But this time, temptation came in the form of something I'd been wanting to try for a long time—the Ultimate Chest.
From a purely mathematical perspective, it probably wasn't the smartest decision. At 15,000 Glint per chest, I could have spent the same amount on Card Draws and guaranteed myself more cards without relying on luck.
But sometimes we're more willing to trust hope than a calculator.
I told myself, "If not now, then when am I ever going to try the Ultimate Chest?"
So the decision was made.
I purchased 30 Ultimate Chests.
In total, I spent roughly 300,000 Glint. That's no small amount. Even as I clicked the purchase button, a small voice in my head whispered, "I really hope I don't regret this."
Once all the chests were ready, I went with the most exciting option.
Flip All.
I've always loved that moment. Every chest opens at once, and then the rewards gradually reveal themselves one after another. It's a thrill that no ordinary reward system can quite match. It feels like opening birthday presents—you never know whether what's inside will make you grin with excitement or simply scratch your head in confusion.
Unfortunately, Lady Luck seemed to be taking the day off.
There wasn't a single Legendary card.
There wasn't even a Gold Foil card.
For a moment, all I could do was laugh. Maybe I'd already used up all my luck during previous openings.

Still, when I looked at the overall results, they really weren't bad at all.
I received a Legendary Scroll, which will definitely be valuable for my account's long-term progression. I also pulled Epic Saltwrath Pirate.
More importantly, several cards I'd been collecting for a while finally reached enough BCX to level up.
Two of the biggest upgrades were Grim Bonewhip and Shadowcomb Duskrose.
To me, that's the real value of opening chests. Sometimes it isn't about pulling the rarest card in the game—it's about making the cards you already own significantly stronger. One extra level may sound small, but in Splinterlands, an additional ability or a few extra stats can completely change the outcome of a battle.
One thing that surprised me wasn't even the cards themselves.
The Ultimate Chest was packed with Merits and Energy.
Before I realized it, my Merits balance had climbed to nearly 9,000.
The moment I saw that number, my thoughts immediately shifted to Brawls.
"Just a little more, and I can open five Gladius Cases."
That's the life of a Splinterlands player. The moment you finish chasing one reward, you're already thinking about the next one.
The longer I play Splinterlands, the more I appreciate how the game's newer features give players multiple ways to grow. The Ultimate Chest isn't simply a place to hunt for rare cards—it offers a combination of different rewards that help strengthen your account from several angles.
In the end, I wasn't disappointed.
Sure, I didn't pull any Legendary or Gold Foil cards. But I walked away with several Epic cards, a Legendary Scroll, enough BCX to upgrade Grim Bonewhip and Shadowcomb Duskrose, and a healthy stash of Merits that has almost reached the amount I need to open another batch of Gladius Cases.
Now my strategy is clear.
I'll continue farming Glint as usual, keep battling across different game modes, and let my Merits steadily accumulate until it's time to open the next Gladius Cases.
Because in Splinterlands, every reward is simply the beginning of the next goal.
And perhaps that's exactly what keeps me coming back to battle season after season.
