Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
Now that Collector Achievements officially launched on October 27, 2026, it’s time to take a closer look at the first two achievements collectors can aim for: Essence Orbs and Orcs.
In my opinion, these two categories are quite interesting because they offer different kinds of challenges. One encourages us to complete a card set, while the other asks us to collect every member of a particular bloodline. So, it’s not just about owning lots of cards, but also about building a collection with a clear goal in mind.
I see this feature as a game within a game. Until now, we’ve been busy hunting for cards to strengthen our decks, level them up, or chase victories. Now, we have another reason to open our binders and check which cards we’re still missing.
Essence Orbs: The Satisfaction of Completing a Set
The first achievement is Complete the Set: Essence Orbs. To qualify, we must own at least 1 CC of every required card in the Essence Orbs set.
The 1 CC requirement is important because it sets the minimum ownership threshold for this achievement. That means players don’t have to rush to upgrade every card to its maximum level. The challenge is simply to make sure all the required cards are available and stored in the same binder.
Once we complete the achievement, we can choose one of the following rewards:
- Orb Chaser — a title prefix that provides a 10% ranked-play bonus.
- Ella Ironcaller Land Feat — provides 2,000 Production Power (PP), 3% Bountiful Iron, and -3% Light Rationing.
I find the choice quite interesting. Players who spend more time battling might prefer Orb Chaser because of its ranked-play bonus. Meanwhile, Land owners might consider Ella Ironcaller to support production activities on their plots.
So, the best reward isn’t necessarily the one with the biggest numbers, but the one that best fits our account’s needs.
Orcs: Collecting an Entire Family
The second achievement is Rally the Bloodline: Orcs. This time, we’re asked to collect at least 1 CC of every Orc card included in the requirements.
There are also two rewards to choose from:
- Orc Lover — a title prefix that provides a 5% ranked-play bonus.
- Brakden Land Feat — provides 1,000 PP and the 3% Toil and Kin (Orc) ability.
I like the bloodline concept because collecting cards from a specific group feels more personal. Sometimes, we naturally gravitate toward a particular type of character or race. Some players enjoy collecting Orcs, others prefer certain monsters, while some pursue cards based on their themes or lore.
With this achievement, that passion now has a more concrete goal.
Don’t Forget the Reward Rules
There are a few things to keep in mind before starting the hunt. First, all required cards must be in the same binder. Cards spread across multiple binders cannot be combined to complete a single achievement.
Second, the reward can only be retained as long as the collection continues to meet the requirements. If a required card is removed and the achievement’s conditions are no longer satisfied, access to the reward may also be lost.
Third, title prefix bonuses cannot be stacked. We can equip only one title prefix, and the highest eligible ranked-play bonus applies, regardless of which title is currently displayed.
In my opinion, these two achievements are a pretty good starting point. New players can treat them as long-term goals, while veteran collectors get recognition for efforts they may have been making for years.
After all, collecting cards in Splinterlands is fun. But knowing why we collect them is what makes the journey more meaningful.
