Hello Splinterlands warriors, welcome back to my post.
This time, I want to share my experience trying out Survival Mode Stress Testing Bracket III – Intermediate Modern. This mode feels different because every card that loses a battle goes into cooldown and cannot be used again immediately.
At first, it sounds pretty simple. But after actually playing it, I started to realize that every loss forces me to rethink my strategy before putting together the next team.
Especially with only four days left in the season, while I still have 59 battles to complete. So this is no longer just a casual stroll. I need to play quite actively while trying to maintain the performance I've had so far.
My win rate is currently around 75.6%, with a highest win streak of seven wins. However, my experience playing Splinterlands has taught me not to feel too safe just because the statistics are looking good.
To reach Silver III, I often rely on Captain Frankie as my Archon, combined with Rodentian and Tideborn teams.
I enjoy this combination because it feels like taking a group of people who already know each other well into battle. When the composition is right, the synergy feels very comfortable.
But of course, Splinterlands won't let us get too comfortable.
Several times, one of my key monsters was defeated and immediately went into cooldown. In a normal game, I could simply look for another combination. But in Survival Mode, I actually found it quite helpful that the cooldown is significantly reduced.
This means I don't have to leave a card on the bench for too long after it gets defeated. After waiting for a short while, the card can return to battle.
There were moments when my main monster got taken down and all I could say was, “Oh no, this card again.”
But then I checked the cooldown and realized it wasn't going to take long.
That's when I started looking at cards not only based on their strength, but also on how important they are to my collection and how quickly they can return to battle.
The question is no longer simply:
“What is the strongest team?”
Instead:
“If this card loses, do I still have enough options for my next battle?”
For me, this is one of the most interesting aspects of Survival Mode.
Right now, my biggest challenge is 59 battles in four days.
I want to complete that target without sacrificing too much of my current 75.6% win rate. And of course, I'd also like to see whether my seven-win streak can go even further.
But chasing numbers can sometimes make us play too quickly. Survival Mode, on the other hand, requires patience. We need to read the ruleset, check the available collection, and decide when certain cards should be used.
For newer players, the faster cooldown also gives you room to experiment. Try a combination, lose, figure out what went wrong, wait a little while, and then try again with a small adjustment.
That has been my experience so far while trying Survival Mode Bracket III – Intermediate Modern.
I still have 59 battles to complete in four days, a 75.6% win rate, and a highest streak of seven wins. I'm still relying on Captain Frankie together with Rodentian and Tideborn while continuing to face increasingly diverse enemy formations.
If there is one lesson I've learned, it's this: don't play Survival Mode just to chase the number of battles. Know your collection, understand the cooldown system, prepare alternative teams, and don't be afraid to experiment.
Because a card that has just lost a battle doesn't mean it's useless.
It's simply taking a break.
And if the cooldown is being kind, it will be back on the battlefield before you know it.
See you in the next battle.
Good luck, warriors. VONAK!
