Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!

Mid-October is here, and I'm back with another update from the Brawl arena with my guild, ClaNFT. Splinterlands has been pretty busy this month. We've had Hallows Fall, changes to the division and bracket systems in Modern mode, and various new developments that keep us adapting. Amid all these updates, I continued doing my usual duty: fighting in Brawl and fulfilling my responsibilities in Fray 12.

The good news? This time, I came away with a big smile. My record shows 8 wins and no losses. From these results, I contributed 24 points to the guild. Looking at those numbers, I can't help but feel a little proud. But hold on, don't promote me to war commander just yet.

You see, out of those eight wins, four were automatic victories because our opponents didn't fill their teams in their respective Frays. In fact, out of the four battles available to me, only two actually took place. The other two opponents apparently forgot to prepare their lineups until time ran out.

Of course, I can't complain about free wins. Still, automatic victories feel different. We get the results, but we don't get the chance to test our strategies. Fortunately, I won the two battles that actually happened thanks to the right team selection and strategy.

How did those two battles unfold? I'll save that story for my next post. Let's leave a little surprise, like opening a reward chest without knowing what's inside.

My contribution this time also helped ClaNFT claim first place. Our guild brought home 55 Crowns. Every member who participated fully received 2,750 Merits, while players with a Spellbook received 34,004 staked SPS.

For me, these results are pretty encouraging. After previously spending Merits at the Guild Shop, my balance has now built back up to 4,916 Merits. There's still a long way to go before I can open a Gladius Case, but at least things are moving again.

My SPS balance has also increased to 22,707 SPS. Unfortunately, having more assets doesn't always mean their monetary value goes up as well. When the crypto market weakens, we can own more tokens while watching our portfolio value shrink. That's just how the market works: sometimes it rewards us, and sometimes it tests our patience.

In my opinion, Brawl teaches us two things at once. In the arena, we learn to develop strategies and work together. On the economic side, we learn to manage our expectations and avoid assuming that today's prices will remain the same tomorrow. For new players, joining a guild also provides an opportunity to learn from other members' experiences, rather than simply chasing rewards.

If you ask me, my advice is to enjoy your victories, learn from your defeats, and don't chase crypto assets just because you're tempted by rising prices. Build your collection and SPS holdings gradually, understand the risks, and play within your means.

See you in the next post, when I'll break down the battles that helped bring ClaNFT back to the top!
