Celebrating Splinterlands' Sixth Anniversary: My Journey in Collecting the Best Cards!
Hello Splinterlands fans! In celebration of Splinterlands' sixth anniversary, I'd like to share my personal experience of collecting the best cards over almost two years. My collection has grown to 265 cards. While this is quite a number, it still feels like there's more to achieve.
For new players, it's crucial to know which cards to keep and which to sell. When I first started playing, I kept and upgraded every card I received to its highest level. However, over time, I realized that some cards were never used or didn't fit my strategy. Additionally, certain skills were available on other cards that I used more frequently in battles.
Focus on Summoner Cards
My first piece of advice for new players is to focus on upgrading your Summoner cards. Summoner cards are the backbone of your team, as they are used in every battle. The higher the level of your Summoner card, the stronger the monsters you can bring into battle. To obtain good Summoner cards, I often spend my Glint on opening RARE DRAW packs.
For instance, as shown in the image, I used my end-of-season Glint rewards to open cards from RARE DRAW. This allowed me to upgrade my Summoner cards to levels 5 and 6, significantly strengthening my team in battles.
Collecting Monster Cards to Match Your Strategy
Once you have strengthened your Summoner cards, the next step is to collect other monster cards that fit your battle strategy. If you choose the water element, for example, look for water monsters that complement your team. Remember, not every team needs to be filled with legendary or epic cards. Common and rare cards can also be extremely powerful if used in the right team composition.
In some battles, I've successfully used a combination of common and rare cards to defeat opponents with epic and legendary cards. The key to success is choosing the right cards and applying the appropriate strategy.
Upgrade Cards to Their Highest Level
It's important to aim for upgrading your cards to their highest level. The higher the level of your card, the more powerful skills it will have. A single high-level card with multiple skills is often better than having many low-level cards with only one skill each. If you find it challenging to collect high-level cards, you can rent cards from other players in the market.
