As a teenager he came to blows with a friend about a girl they both fancied, and the injury he sustained resulted in a rare eye affliction called "anisocoria."
Anisocoria is unequal pupil size. The pupil is the black part in the center of the eye. It gets larger in dim light and smaller in bright light. Source
David Jones was clearly destined to be a rock star. We know him as the late great David Bowie. It was his melodic gift that I particularly enjoyed, but he was also an actor, and quite witty in his own dry way. If you've never seen his segment on the series “Extras,” this is a real highlight.
