Back in the late 90's my buddy introduced me to a band called Dispatch. Their CD "Bang Bang" was one of the greatest independent albums ever released IMO. The band broke up in 2002 to the dismay of hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe. After over a decade hiatus they re-joined forces and went back on tour.

You could imagine my excitement when I saw on social media that they were coming to my hometown! I immediately went to buy tickets...SOLD OUT :( I was so bummed. It sold out in like 5 minutes. Luckily Dispatch hates ticket scalpers and they set up a website where fans can release tickets purchased for other fans to purchase at face value. After a little over a month I received an e-mail stating that two tickets were available. I snatched them up and surprised my wife with a date night out.
The show was fantastic! It was two full acoustic sets. The first part was mostly songs I never heard before. They were off their newest album, "America, Location 12". I really enjoyed the new songs and downloaded the album when I got home. Set number two was a lot of the classics that I knew like "Hey, Hey" and "The General". The crowd went crazy for the old stuff and it was fun singing along.

Overall it was one of the better concerts I have ever been to and I have been to many. The only downside to the show was the injection of politics. I understand they are a hippy liberal band and many of their songs share that belief, but I don't like paying money to be lectured to. They spent much of their time between songs advocating for universal gun background checks and other holier than though causes. I say stick to the music and entertain me. I came to the show to escape all the outside BS.
