All sections of the "floor" move 10" in the same direction. Back for unloading, forward for loading(if you need to). 1/3rd of the sections retreat, followed by the next 1/3rd, finishing with the last 1/3rd. Friction from the non moving 2/3rds holds the load in place. After all sections have retreated, they move in unison 10" to "walk" the load out. Repeating this process for about 14 minutes will empty the 53' trailer, except for the light residual left that needs shoveled or swept. This trailer can hold up to 110 cubic yards, but we are only loading it with 80 yards of demo on this job. It goes to the landfill where the dump fee is $100 per cubic yard. That's right each load costs $8000.00 to empty at the landfill. It pays to recycle!
