President Trump's strange endorsement of establishment pick Luther Strange to fill the senate seat left open by the beleaguered AJ Sessions has not had the desired effect that the Washington swamp creatures had hoped for. Mr. Strange has come in second to conservative firebrand Roy Moore of Ten Commandments fame. Alabama now heads to a special election and hopefully President Trump will remain on the sidelines if he cannot come out in support of Mr. Moore who appears from this angle to be immune to most swamp diseases.
