Hello, coffee lovers!
This week, @cinnccf encourages us to talk about our go-to foods—when we adopt them as our own and what it means to order them again during times like these.
These are interesting ideas for summer; if I could, I would undoubtedly try to put them into practice. However, the reality in my country limits us in many ways—though not in our imagination or memories, at least for now.
That is why various dishes come to mind that would be absolutely wonderful to enjoy in a coffee shop. They might not be traditional dishes, but they crowd my palate with flavor. The first tastes that come to mind are chocolate ice cream, bonbons, cakes...
The interesting thing is that, in keeping with this week's theme, I’ve decided to take you all to the Baba Yaga coffee shop—the place where, as I’ve mentioned before, my son @eborosa works.
Interesting, why? Well, because it’s a place where you can just as easily enjoy your coffee or reasonably priced dishes in peace as you can run into special people—like International Chess Grandmaster Jesús Nogueiras.
Furthermore, this place is famous in the city for the sweets they sell—all of them high-quality in both their preparation and presentation. But I won’t show them to you today; I’ll save that for another time so I can cover them in greater detail, while for now, I continue to savor only the taste of the coffee I’m drinking as I write this.
As you can see, the café’s décor immerses us in the world of Baba Yaga’s films, where the unexpected happens. It’s the same here.
You might come across antiques that evoke a time when the tropical, the traditional, and the vintage held a constant appeal for everyone, or—amidst the daily whirlwind—find a moment’s pause for my son to eat a slice of pizza while trying to access his Hive blog.
Here, time seems to stand still, and I find myself captivated by the enchanting aroma of the coffee. I must highlight that this café serves coffee that is remarkably strong and exquisite to the palate; the proof lies in the stains left on the cups as one sips it.
Customers come and go at a pace that brings to mind the Continental Hotel—a place where Baba Yaga might not drink coffee, yet seems to be constantly under the influence of caffeine, whether enjoying the music or watching a soccer match on the wall-mounted screens.
I lose myself in another cup of coffee and, thanks to the magic of imagination, I bid you farewell for now—perhaps until a different coffee order comes along— sharing a sip with you and reminding you: never stop smiling!
This is my participation in the contest that @cinnccf proposes to us through the #CinnamonCupCoffee community.
Thank you very much for your visit!
