I cut myself off from gaming about a decade and a half ago, just so I could get things done in life, but I still drop in every now and then for a game of CSGO. Recently, everybody on my Steam friends list has been playing Player Uknown's Battlegrounds, so I decided to give it a shot... today I finally won my first (squad) game.

I'm going to assume most of you know what PUBG is, since you're reading on #gaming, but on the off chance you don't, it's basically a king-of-the-hill survival game where you get dropped into the Russian countryside with 99 other people, and have to loot houses for weapons, armour and vehicles to be the last warrior standing, while staying within a constantly-shrinking playzone.

What's really blown me away by this game is that when I say "everybody on my Steam friends list", I mean that all the friends I have from different games (eg, CSGO friends, Ark: Survivor Evolved friends), who usually only play specific games, are all jumping into PUBG... and it's hard to blame them, since it's totally addictive.

Dropping from a parachute into the game, sometimes you get killed in the first 10 seconds as the person you landed next to grabs a gun before you do. Sometimes you spend half an hour looting, only to get shot out of nowhere by an unseen sniper. And sometimes you're armed with nothing but a frying pan and manage to take out an entire enemy squad (yes, I've actually done this, and it's amazing)

The game is as much luck as it is skill, both being super important towards taking out that top #1 spot. Today, we were lucky in that we dropped right into highly defensible position, with half-decent weapons, where the zone didn't move a lot. As you can see, to win the game I only had to kill 3 people... though the last 10 is always hectic, and geting those final few kills requires a lot of strategy and quick reflexes.

Anyone else on Steemit been loving this game?
