Some time ago, snooping around and looking for something to watch, I found this great classic film (in my opinion) and I watched it again. I did not regret to stop watching the new and to remember how good this movie was, and for this reason I wanted to review this movie.
I am almost sure that, like me, you will be hooked in this story full of suspense and action, although at first it may not seem so, it has many unexpected twists and turns that will leave you speechless. So now let's start this journey through this movie, without spoilers of course hehe.
Hace un tiempo atrás husmeando y buscando que ver, me encontré este gran clásico del cine (a mi parecer) y volví a verlo. No me arrepentí de dejar de ver lo nuevo y para recordar lo buena de esta película, y por esta razón quise ahora hacer un review acerca de esta película.
Estoy casi segura, que, así como yo, quedaran enganchados en esta historia llena de suspenso y acción, aunque en un principio no lo pareciera, tiene muchos giros inesperados que los dejaran boquiabiertos. Entonces ahora si comencemos este recorrido por esta película, sin hacer spoilers por supuesto jeje.

It was filmed mostly in the city of San Francisco and was released in the United States in September 1997. It is a film with a duration of approximately 2 hours, whose original language is English.
It stars the great actor Michael Douglas, and also has Sean Penn and Debora Kara Unger as main actors. We can also mention as part of the cast: Carroll Baker, James Rebhorn, Peter Donat, Anna Katerina, Charles Martinet , among others.

Short synopsis (no spoilers) / Pequeña sinopsis (sin spoilers).
This film begins with a childhood memory that haunts the protagonist Nicholas Van Orton, related to the day his father committed suicide by jumping off the roof of his mansion on his 48th birthday. Although Nicholas grew up to become a wealthy businessman, this memory has stayed with him throughout his life, marking him forever. By his 48th birthday, he had plenty of money, but he was divorced and alone. The only one he had a relationship with was his brother Conrad, who gave him a very unusual gift on his birthday.
Esta película comienza con un recuerdo de cuando era niño, que atormenta al protagonista Nicholas Van Orton, relacionado al día en que su padre se suicidó, saltando del techo de su mansión, en su cumpleaños número 48. A pesar, de que al crecer Nicolás se convirtió en un adinerado hombre de negocios, este recuerdo lo llevo durante toda su vida, marcándolo para siempre. Al cumplir sus 48 años se encontraba con mucho dinero, pero estaba divorciado y solo. Con el único que mantenía una relación era con su hermano Conrad, el cual le dio un obsequio muy inusual en su cumpleaños.
This gift was a ticket or gift card to enter a game from a company called CRS, which supposedly changed the life of his brother Conrad. At first Nicolas is not very interested in his brother's gift, he thinks it's bullshit, but in a way it makes him curious about the mystery behind it all and leaves him thinking about it. A few days later he hears people talking about this mysterious game, not finding answers from these people he decides to go to the company to see what's going on.
When he arrives at the CRS offices everything seems normal at first. He spends a few hours undergoing tests and apparently he is not qualified to play the game. But shortly after leaving CRS, he realizes that he has entered the game and events begin to occur that change the course of the story of this character and all those close to him. All the events that occur later, takes us through a great set of emotions, and transports us to points where we do not know what is reality or fiction.
Este regalo se trataba de una entrada o tarjeta de regalo para entrar en un juego de una compañía llamada CRS, la cual supuestamente cambio la vida de su hermano Conrad. En un principio Nicolas no se muestra muy interesado por el regalo de su hermano, cree que son patrañas de él, pero en cierta forma le da curiosidad el misterio que hay detrás de todo esto y lo deja pensando al respecto. A los días escucha a personas hablando sobre este misterioso juego, al no encontrar respuestas de estas personas decide ir a la compañía a ver qué pasa.
Al llegar a las oficinas de CRS todo parece normal al principio. Pasa algunas horas realizándose pruebas y al parecer no es calificado para realizar el juego. Pero poco después de salir del CRS, se da cuenta que ha entrado en el juego y empiezan a ocurrir acontecimientos que cambian el trayecto de la historia de este personaje y de todos sus allegados. Todos los hechos que ocurren luego, nos lleva atravesar un gran conjunto de emociones, y nos transporta a puntos donde no sabemos que es la realidad o la ficción.
Final Comment / Comentario Final
We can say that, although this movie has a slow beginning, it develops a very crazy outcome full of action, suspense and even a bit of romance. I can say that it is one of those few movies that when you finish watching it, you want to know more about the whole plot, since, in its development, it also contains a bit of mystery.
Personally I could say that this film is not only mere entertainment, but it is this kind of things that help you reflect on life issues, such as relationships within the family, problems such as suicide, and all these traumas can affect attitudes in individuals.
We can see that in Nicholas, who since childhood lived clinging to a traumatic past, which helped him to make many bad decisions in his adult life, having a lot of money, he was alone because of the attitude he had taken to life. Conrad's brother and his proposal of the game, in a way represent that awakening that we need and help us to rethink the life we lead.
For this and much more is an interesting proposal to see, if you're like me and like to choose from time to time, films with a little suspense and action hehehe. I hope to see your comments, if you found this movie interesting or not.
Podemos decir que, aunque esta película tiene un comienzo algo lento, se va desarrollando un desenlace muy descabellado lleno de acción, suspenso y hasta un poco de romance. Puedo decir que son esas pocas películas que al termina de verla, quisieras saber más de toda esta trama, ya que, en su desarrollo, también encierra un poco de misterio.
Personalmente podría decir que no solo es mero entretenimiento es este filme, sino que son este tipo de cosas que te ayudan a reflexionar sobre temas de la vida, como es las relaciones dentro de los senos familiares, problemas como el suicidio, y todos estos traumas pueden afectar las actitudes en los individuos.
Eso lo podemos ver en Nicholas que desde niño vivió aferrado a un pasado traumante, que lo ayudo a tomar muchas malas decisiones en su vida como adulto, teniendo mucho dinero, estaba solo por la actitud que había tomado ante la vida. El hermano de Conrad y su propuesta del juego, en cierta forma representan ese despertar que necesitamos y nos ayude recapacitar de la vida que llevamos.
Por esto y mucho más es una interesante propuesta para ver, si eres como yo y les gusta escoger de vez en cuando, filmes con un poco suspenso y acción jejeje. Espero ver sus comentarios, si les pareció o no interesante esta película.
