Hello everyone, I'm a mechanical engineer student and I'm passionate about all kind of tech.
My first met with the crypto was back in 2009/2010 (my interest lasted like 1-2 days so my memories are blurry ), I was 17 and I heard for the first time in some weird forum about the Deep web!!
So I downloaded onion browser and I set sail into the deep web & silk road black market. It was then that, In the middle of a bag full of weed and some unknown guns (I'm going hard with all kind of stereotypes lol), I found about crypto: Bitcoin was the currency used to buy stuff on this weird online black market.
After 1 day of research, I learned that it was mineable, so I set up my scrappy pc and I let it go for I think 1-2 days. I did some math (it was like 0.10$ for 2 days of work) and it was in that moment that that far-sighted seventeen boy understood that it was all bullshit and stopped the machine that could have build a mountain of crypto coins. The only good side of this story is that that pc is completely lost so I'll never know how much btc I mined back then.
And since then I always have been up with all kind of tech news, but I always kept distance for no reason (the only reason was that I didn't really understand the blockchain tech).
Flashforward: Late November 2017
A friend of mine and ex roommate of the university called me to ask some questions about the crypto world and that 1-hour call light up a spark inside of my head. Since that call, I committed me into this world and I tried to learn everything possible (technical and economical aspect).
January 2018: I discover Steemit
I fell in love with Steemit last February and since then I’m still in love. I love video editing and, in the past few months, I played a lot Fortnite so it was very easy for me to choose highlights and funny moments as my first “format”, but at the same time trying to be original with my editing skills.
My first goal was since the beginning to create an active account with weekly posts because I believe in this platform. I believe in crypto and I think that this will be the future. Even if I'm late compared to the creation of steemit, I still think that we all are early adopters and we'll have the "first mover advantage". This is what will push me to continue with this.
First time and thoughts
With my first post, I immediately saw that this community is very active and supportive, so I thought of sending a pm to single users that already enjoyed similar contents to mine. Thanks to @ishnuala
@yuguers
@destbest
@africa I felt really proud of my first contents because some other senior users gave me their support. With the 3$ of my first post, I'll definitely not buy a Lambo, but it's really propulsive to have this kind of reward: the idea that another user saw my video and thought that I deserve that dollar.
Like every user that fell in love with steemit always says, with this very simple action of upvote, some users have the power to stimulate and support the contents creation with 0 effort and for free! It's literally just one click.
In regards to this argument, after some days of trying to understand all the mechanics of the platform, I saw that there are some "few" users that "move the economy" of this platform and that can really impact the lives of other users. I feel that this is an unbalanced mechanic, but only because of us. Every user needs to commit himself into the platform in order to create an ecosystem of virtuous and mutual support. Also, I appreciate the effort that @dlive and
@dtube accounts are putting in to support their active users.
My next experiment was to investigate about the whales bots that boost the post for promotions. I gave it a single try but I'm still not sure about this mechanic. Its just about post promotion to get into the trending page and get visibility, or it's possible to be positive in this kind of game?
For now, this is it. See you space cowboy
