Recently I made the decision to replace my old motorcycle helmet, which I had been using for more than three years. The old helmet has served me well, but the inner lining had become thin due to prolong usage and it was time for a change.
I headed to Jalan Sentul which is located in Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Sentul is a popular destination for motorcycle enthusiasts. Well known for its wide selection of motorcycle parts and accessories. At Jalan Sentul, I visited three different shops to compare prices and finally decided to purchase a new helmet at Super LS Motor Parts for MYR 150. (Around 37 USD)
Jalan Sentul can be considered a heaven for those who love motorcycles. The whole stretch of the Jalan Sentul area is packed with motorcycle shops offering everything you could possibly need for your motorcycle needs. From riding attire such as a riding jacket, and helmet to tires, custom parts, and more. Most of the motorcycle-related items can be found here.
During my time at Super LS Motor Parts, I was actually impressed by the variety of helmets sold there. There were multiple styles and brands available. After trying on a few different options, I settled on a helmet with a simple but modern design. But most importantly, I knew that the new helmet would keep me safe on the road.
When it comes to purchasing a new motorcycle helmet, I would always consider two aspects which are safety and comfort when I am wearing the helmet. The helmet that I choose was black in color and has a certified durable outer shell and adjustable inner padding. How I know it is certified is because of the JPJ approval sticker that is shown on the helmet. (JPJ is the equivalent of the US Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV))
Overall, I'm thrilled with my new helmet. I didn't take the helmet box because I wanted to straight away wear it, and it is a hassle to bring the bulky box back home on my motorcycle. In conclusion, it is always a good idea to replace your old helmet with a newer and safer one.

As you can see in the below photographs, there are a lot of helmets that can be chosen from. The brand that is available to choose are from Arai, Shoei, ARC, MHR, KY, MT Helmet, and many more.
This is the helmet that I bought. It is from the ARC brand. The model of the helmet is the ARC BelAir Roadster Double Visor helmet. I like double visor helmets because they offer more versatility and convenience. With a double-visor helmet, I can simply flip down the inner black tinted visor whenever needed.
(Pictures) Motorcycle Rims
I sometimes wonder why some motorcyclists would buy a non-certified motorcycle rim. The rims might be lighter compared to the certified rims. But I doubt the safety of the non-certified rims. My logical thinking is that non-certified motorcycle rims might not undergo the same level of testing and quality assurance as certified rims. That means the safety of the rims is not guaranteed.
I would prefer to pay more for buying a certified motorcycle rims instead of risking myself to the potential of an accident by using a non-certified motorcycle rim.
