This week mark my third week working as a GrabFood delivery rider. After experiencing first hand what mostly of the delivery rider has gone through, I can say delivery rider is underappreciated.
I've met with various types of people during my run as GrabFood delivery rider. Some were friendly, some were rude, and some just too busy even to say thank you.
Executing delivery rider task demands a lot of physical endurance and stamina. I'm not gonna lie, during my first week I was totally exhausted after finishing the day. I would fell asleep within few minutes after lying down.
Income per day varies. I can get in the range of MYR 40 to MYR 50 for 6 to 8 jobs. The highest I've ever got was MYR100 for 12 jobs. Within a week, I can get around MYR 150 until MYR 250.
That would means, in a month i can get around MYR 800 until MYR 1000 (approximately around USD 200 to USD 250). The income are not that much, but better than nothing. Al least it is enough to cover my daily expenses such as gas and meals.
I would start my working hours from 9.30 am until 4.30 am. I keep the working hours between 6 to 7 hours per day. I does not extend my working hours until night because I would be too tired too ride. That can endanger me and others.
Looking at the calendar, I have another three week to go before I reporting for duty at the new company. I need to keep up working as GrabFood delivery rider just until then.
