Crazy Surprise!

Guys, I can’t believe this! I mean you hear about it, but you don’t believe it will happen to YOU, but it HAS! I can totally confirm this game is DEFINITELY a Play to Earn game, so if you don’t mind giving me a minute, let me tell you (1) what held me back in the beginning to be a part of the crypto world, (2) how Splinterlands eased my worries IMMEDIATELY, and (3) Proof that Splinterlands IS a play to earn game, and I just cannot recommend it enough to EVERYONE!

First: What Held Me Back

A month ago I had no idea about crypto, and I certainly wasn’t familiar with Splinterlands, but I WAS certain that I wanted to find a safe place I could invest some money, and I felt like crypto might be the place to try, even if I would just start out in pennies.

The term "Play to Earn" versus "Pay to Play" is quite important in the crypto world. You want something that allows you to earn money without putting in an insane investment up front. I had heard Splinterlands was a Play to Earn game, but I wasn’t sure if I'd be able to figure out how to play the game so I needed some answers. I was lucky enough to have a friend that could guide me, but not everyone is lucky enough for that. On a side note, I knew I wanted to write about my journey as a crypto novice so that I COULD help others decide for themselves if this was for them. I’m just a Midwestern girl, folks. I feel like people can see that if I can do this, they can too. So if you’re that person I’m talking to, I hope I can be here to help you, and please feel free to write me any questions you have. I’m not an expert, but there are so many helpful people in Splinterlands that someone will be able to help if I don’t have the answers right away for you.

Is Splinterlands the Place to Be? Yes!

I wasn’t sure if Splinterlands was a good home for my investment, but I knew that I could take a chance on ten dollars. I mean that’s a couple coffees guys, or if you live out in the country, that’s a good ole country breakfast. Either way, it’s such a little risk to try, so I decided I would see if Splinterlands was the right fit for me.

I haven’t even hit the end of the season yet y’all, but I can confirm, this Splinter-Lassie is TOTALLY sure this was a great home for my investment! I’ve already made WAY more than I imagined, and I can also confirm this is definitely a PLAY to earn game. Let me continue to explain.

Second: Splinterlands Eased My Worries Immediately about the Spellbook

You see, buying a spellbook might seem like you're paying to play but when it’s all said and done, the return on your investment will be well worth it. You’re given access to cards, and honestly all you need are THOSE CARDS to WIN! You don’t need to spend any more money unless you want to, and you will find yourself slowly grinding towards more wins! You don’t LOSE money when you lose, and you GAIN money when you win! You even get surprises (and who doesn’t love a surprise?) when you play quests!

I’ve shown you in a previous blog that you CAN beat the pros at this game with JUST the spellbook cards! See the Blog Post here if you didn’t catch it before:

@rosiew/splinterlands-wins-for-anyone-even-a-novice-can-beat-the-pro

You really just have to ask yourself: What’s holding you back?

(And by the way, when you buy that spellbook, if you see a message on your screen that says “SOLD OUT,” well no worries, that’s not about the spellbook. It’s about packs of cards they offered ages ago, and they’re not available at this time (except for on the market of course) and you don’t need those cards to play. Again, be sure to check out my blog on beating a pro just using the regular spellbook cards! You’ve got this!)

Quite A Surprise

And what I found folks is that surprisingly, I’m LOVING this game. I actually enjoy playing the game. I can relax when my night is done with a few rounds of cards as the sun sets over the prairie, and I can be making money while the cows are calling out to the clouds! What a life!

Ready for More

In fact, I enjoyed playing so much that I wanted to play more, but there’s something called ECR which means energy capture rate. My friend reminds me all the time, “everything takes energy.” “Yeah, yeah,” I say to blow him off as I want to play the game longer and longer, but what happens is I’m not getting as much of a win on the DEC which only recharges about 18 to 20 percent a day. So, I decided to get another account. EEK! You see, my theory is that I’ll play on my alt account while my other account is recharging. I could also win some more cards while my other account is recharging. And well, that MAYBE, MIGHT, SERIOUSLY HAVE HAPPENED ALL RIGHT. I MIGHT have won myself a card. And not just ANY card, but a REAL spitfire! This is when the UNBELIEVABLE becomes BELIEVABLE!

Proof of Play to Earn

So, I played five rounds of cards on my new alt account. I wanted to make sure I got that bonus daily quest, RIGHT? And again, I didn’t LOSE any money for losing the match, but I would WIN DEC when I won the match. I completed my quest, I opened the chest and….

BOOM.

Yes! I seriously got a LEGENDARY CARD in the first five rounds of play in Splinterlands! You can’t even BELIEVE how loud I screamed! I must have startled the cows for sure! HA HA!

Wow the chances are slim to win a Legendary, and I can't believe I won it. I truly have played to earn in Splinterlands. I promise that you CAN earn money in this game! And you don’t have to be an expert, but you do want to take your time, watch the matches and get a feel for things! There are so many people who are happy to help, because we ALL want to win in this so the Splinterlands community is like a big, happy, money-making family!

What should I do now?

Sell--

Should I sell this card? Right now on the market I could get 1000 DEC (or around $26!) for this card! Or should I hold onto it because it will be more in the future? Then again, if I sell it now, I can turn my luck into some great success by buying more cards.

Rent--

What about renting the card? It’s a Legendary card, so it will work in multiple leagues. At the same time, it’s only a level 1 so that’s not as amazing as more advanced cards.

I can make 17.70 DEC a day if I rent this. I would need to rent the card for 508 days though to get the $26 dollars I would get by selling it. ($26 /0.00664 = 3915 DEC which if you divide that by the 17.70 DEC you have 508 days). At the same time, by renting the card, I still own it, so if it goes up in value, I can sell it then on the marketplace when it’s at that higher price! Meanwhile, I could make a lot of DEC by renting it out to others, and at the end of the season when people are just needing those extra cards, it’s a GREAT time to rent.

Play--

Or I could just play with this new amazing card! The choices and strategies in Splinterlands are endless! There are so many ways to make crypto, and it’s all just play to earn! I’m so happy I’ve joined this game! It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made recently, and I’m really excited to see how far my investment will go!

What do you all recommend? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Final Thoughts

Just remember, getting a Legendary card is pretty extraordinary so keep your expectations in check. That being said, you can seriously win SO MUCH just by playing, and isn’t that a win no matter how big or small? So come join Splinterlands today. It truly deserves the title Play2Earn!
